The Australian Ice Hockey League (AIHL), established in 2000, is Australia's top-level men's ice hockey league, sanctioned by Ice Hockey Australia, (a member of the International Ice Hockey Federation.
In its 23rd season, the AIHL has established itself as a truly national semi-professional league contested by ten franchised teams in two conferences spanning six Australian States & Territories being the flagship league for ice hockey in Australia, showcasing 155 season hockey games. memberships surpassed 5000, visitors 100,000, social media engagement 140,000, and 140+ Live Stream subscriptions the AIHL annual revenue is circa $500k.
The GM is responsible for the delivery of the strategic and operational plans of the organization, through engagement in the AIHL community, building membership and managing stakeholder relationships, while running the day-to-day operations of the league.
Working closely with the Board, the GM has the opportunity to build and leverage the existing team of volunteers, to refine and implement the strategic vision for AIHL.
The GM must demonstrate strength and experience across the core functional responsibilities of leadership, high performance, marketing communications, relationship management, customer service, financial accountability and commercial management.
The GM, reports directly to the Chairman of the Board, and takes a one-team approach, a role model for the leadership, values and principles which underpin the AIHL, enhancing its credibility and reputation.
Provide strategic roadmap identifying opportunities for social media growth and ensuring the development capability and capacity of the management team whilst working collaboratively and delivering the league’s strategy.
