The Job

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced football coach with strong leadership skills to join the Manchester City FC Football Education team.  You will be required to lead the coaching staff and manage the successful delivery of weekly and school holiday programs across different venues as part of the Manchester City FC (MCFC), City Football Schools (CFS) in Perth, Australia.

Working closely with the Senior Coaching Development Manager and Senior Manager - CFS, Australia, the Head Coach is responsible for best practice talent identification, recruitment, development, mentor and overall management of the performance of the coaches to ensure the professional and highest quality delivery of the MCFC coaching philosophy, methodology and principles which are incorporated into all of our programs across different venues.

This role is offered on full time basis.

Key Responsibilities - Your Impact.

  • Responsible for the day-to-day management of CFS in Perth, Australia
  • Working with management to oversee the program content, including planning, operations, registrations, logistics, delivery, quality control, reporting and evaluation.
  • Oversee football delivery and quality assurance in line with City Football Group coaching, playing philosophy and methodology, and overall operations guidelines
  • Manage, train and develop all staff that are involved in the program, including FT, PT, and casual resource to ensure smooth and effective delivery of program.
  • Coordinate with the relevant counterparts the administrative, marketing, and promotional elements of the programs.
  • Work closely with other members of the Football Education operations team to ensure the program is delivered in line with knowledge sharing & best practice.

Skills & Experience We Are Looking For:-

  • Coaching License (UEFA B - Level 3)
  • FA Youth Coaching Award or Education in football development.
  • Additional education (either Sports Education, Management or similar field (desired, not essential).
  • Previous experience coaching football with Manchester City FC program or within the UK (desired, not essential).
  • Proven experience in implementing and developing a football coaching syllabus.
  • Strong understanding of player pathways and the development process of players.
  • Proven experience working with players from varying backgrounds and cultures, as well as with a variety of ability levels.
  • Proven experience in supervision or management and working with coaches on planning, preparation and reviewing of practical delivery.
  • Ability to create a positive working environment and influence others.
  • The ability to lead, communicate and develop relationships with coaches, players, parents, and key business stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to manage and develop individual coaches within a team as well as players of varying ages and abilities, including reviewing and evaluating individuals.
  • Professional mindset and presentation both on and off the field.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and empathy with young people and their challenges.
  • High work commitment, enthusiastic, honest and reliable.
  • Pro-active and engaging style, a winning attitude with a strong 'can do' approach.
  • Humble, honest and discrete.
