Likewise, the on-field achievements of our AFL Women’s and GIANTS Netball teams are seeing the club connect with more fans and followers than ever before.
Off field, the club’s exciting, innovative, and fresh brand is growing as it engages with members, fans, the community and key stakeholders across Western Sydney, Canberra and Nationally.
The GIANTS’ AFL and AFL Women’s teams are based at the club’s elite training and administration facility in Sydney Olympic Park, with GIANTS Netball based adjacent at Netball Central.

Position Purpose
The Media and Public Relations (PR) Coordinator will support the Media & PR Manager in executing the club’s media and public relations strategies. This role is essential in ensuring smooth communication and coordination across all media platforms and PR activities. The Coordinator will play a key role in maintaining the club’s public image and enhancing its visibility. They will work closely with various departments to ensure consistent messaging and effective media engagement.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist Head of Media and Communications with Media Management
- Provide support in managing relations and strategies.
- Ensure effective communication and coordination with media outlets.
Lead Proactive Public Relations Opportunities
- Identify and pursue proactive public relations opportunities.
- Develop and implement public relations campaigns to enhance the club’s visibility.
Match Day Media Coordination (AFLW and AFL)
- Coordinate media activities and logistics on match days for AFLW, and for AFL as needed.
- Ensure media personnel have the necessary access and information.
Manage and Facilitate Broadcast Requirements (AFLW and AFL)
- Handle broadcast requests and ensure compliance with guidelines.
- Coordinate with broadcast partners to facilitate smooth operations.
Collaborate with the Head of Content Planning and Production
- Work closely with the Head of Content to plan and produce engaging content.
- Ensure content aligns with the club’s communication strategy and key messages.
Assist or Lead Ambassador Program
- Manage the club’s ambassador and influencer program.
- Coordinate communication and activities with ambassadors.
Event Coordination:
- Organise and manage public relations events and media opportunities.
- Ensure events run smoothly and meet the club’s objectives.
Skills and Knowledge
- Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, or a related field.
- 1-2 years of experience in public relations, media, or communications.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and media monitoring tools.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Energetic and proactive approach to work.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships.
