“Nunawading Basketball”, comprising the Nunawading Amateur Basketball Association (NABA) and the Melbourne East Basketball Association (MEBA), established in 1963, runs competitions and programs for over 1,300 domestic and 45 representative teams (Nunawading Spectres) comprising around 13,000 members. The MEBA provides junior and senior athletes with a sporting and social infrastructure to develop and promote personal, team and social skills in a sporting environment.
Nunawading Basketball have a fantastic opportunity for an energetic, highly motivated and well organised individual to join its team as Finance Manger. The role is responsible for all aspects of the finance function including the provision of high-level financial analysis and reporting to the CEO.
The individual’s professional standards must be impeccable and at the highest level to meet our Associations high expectations. A focus on the administrative side of the business is crucial.
The Finance Manager will provide support to the CEO and all departments by assisting with financial transactions, reconciliation, and reporting of the organisation.
Key Financial Responsibilities Include:
- Bookkeeping, Data Entry & Reconciliations
- Accounts Payable, Income/Receivables and Banking
- Payroll, STP, Superannuation, BAS/PAYG, WorkCover, Payroll Tax
- Month-End/Year-End Financial Reporting & Audit
- Benchmarking, Business Analysis and Management Reporting
The successful candidate will require the following attributes:
- Tertiary Qualification in Bookkeeping or Accounting
- Excellent computer skills (particularly Excel)
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Strong personal commitment to the values of Nunawading Basketball
- Ability to work autonomously as well as within a team environment
- Ability to quickly build rapport with a wide range of stakeholders
