Western Sydney Aquatics is a leading swimming education service that teaches, swimming lessons to primary, secondary and adult students.
An important facet of our education service is the teaching and coaching of students to become competitive swimmers. We coach swimmers at every racing level, from a student’s first primary school swimming carnival, to Australian team representation at the Olympic games.
Position Overview
We would like to engage a person to become a junior squad coach within our swimming service. You will be involved in the development of young swimming competitors including: stroke development and correction, training skills, racing skills and promotion of swimming as a life -long endeavor. You will also assist in the promotion of our swimming squads to our swim school clients and wider community.
Responsibilities
Learn to or expand your ability to develop and implement training programs for swimmers in the development squad, focusing on technique, endurance, and race strategies.
Conduct regular training sessions, including dryland exercises and pool workouts, to improve swimmers’ performance.
Monitor swimmers’ progress and provide individualized feedback and goal setting.
Collaborate with other coaches to create a cohesive training environment and promote team spirit.
Communicate effectively with parents and swimmers regarding training schedules, competitions, and performance expectations.
Attend and support swimmers at competitions, providing coaching and encouragement during races.
Promote swimming as an excellent sport choice for children.
