About the Role
Opening in February 2025, the Coonawarra Wilam Aquatics Centre (Plenty Campus’s new Aquatics and wellbeing Centre) features a 25-metre pool, learn-to-swim pool, strength and conditioning gymnasium, beautiful changerooms and facilities, and classrooms designed for our Physical Education and Health and Human Development classes.
Ivanhoe Swim is excited to expand it’s Learn-to-Swim and Swimming Squad programs to the Plenty Campus and local community.
There are multiple casual opportunities for enthusiastic Swim Teachers who deliver safe, engaging, and effective swimming lessons aligned with the Swim and Survive program. These positions involve tailoring instruction to meet individual swimmers’ needs, fostering skill development, and create meaningful opportunities for personal learning and connection beyond the pool.
Your Everyday
- Inspire and motivate swimmers to develop strong, technically correct swimming skills.
- Deliver energetic and engaging lessons, fostering an encouraging learning environment.
- Observe, evaluate, and report on swimmers’ progress toward skill development goals.
- Work collaboratively with the Pool Manager and team to ensure high-quality lesson delivery.
About You
- AUSTswim certification (Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety).
- Additional qualifications (e.g., Teacher of Infants and Preschool, Teacher of Inclusive Aquatics) are highly desirable.
- Current Level 2 First Aid Certificate and CPR.
- Current Working with Children Check.
- Excellent communication skills and a positive attitude.
- A strong understanding of swimming instruction and water safety principles.
