Description

As the Head Physiotherapist for our Harvey Norman Women’s team at the South Sydney Rabbitohs Rugby League Club, you will play a crucial role in the diagnosis and management of acute injuries along with being responsible for returning athletes to play in a timely and effective manner.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Oversee the South Sydney Rabbitohs Harvey Norman Women’s program and overall responsibility for player treatment and recovery.
  • Provide care for all training sessions and games (within NSW) throughout the season. Run orange shirt for field coverage on game day.
  • Working collaboratively with coaching, support staff and players to manage and reduce injury risk of players
  • Report to Head of Medical Pathways and liaise with club physician on the progress and treatment plan of each individual player.
  • Keep detailed patient records of treatment as per The Health Records and Information Privacy Act 2002 (HRIP Act) outlines how New South Wales (NSW) public sector agencies and health service.

 Injury Assessment and Diagnosis:

  • Conduct thorough assessments of player injuries to determine the extent and nature of the condition.

Treatment Implementation:

  • Implement rehabilitation interventions, including manual therapy, exercise prescription, and modalities, to facilitate tissue healing and functional restoration.

Progress Monitoring:

  • Monitor player progress throughout the rehabilitation process, adjusting treatment plans as needed to optimize outcomes.

Player Education and Support:

  • Educate players on their injuries, rehabilitation protocols, and preventive measures to minimise the risk of re-injury.

Return to Play Clearance:

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments to determine readiness for return to play, ensuring players are physically and mentally prepared to resume competitive action safely.

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Maintain detailed and accurate records of player assessments, treatment sessions, and progress reports in accordance with professional and club standards.

Equipment and Facility Management:

  • Ensure availability and proper functioning of rehabilitation equipment and facilities, coordinating repairs and maintenance as necessary.

Required Hours:

  • Thursday 4pm-8pm fortnightly during Februray- April.
  • Monday, Wednesday, Friday: 3.30pm - 8pm/ weekend game day. May-September.
