ABOUT THE ROLE

The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) has awarded Football Australia hosting rights for the 2026 edition of the AFC Women's Asian Cup™. Having co-hosted the best-ever edition of the FIFA Women’s World Cup™, in 2026 Australia will host the Continent’s premier women’s national teams for a second time in history having also staged the 2006 edition of the AFC Women’s Asian Cup™.

This prestigious event will bring together 12 nations in a tournament structured into three groups of four. Following the success of last year's FIFA Women’s World Cup™, Football Australia, its stakeholders and partners are eager to create another tournament that celebrates women's football, delivers legacy outcomes for football and Australian society more broadly.

A Local Organising Committee (LOC) will be established for the sole purpose of delivering the 2026 edition of the AFC Women's Asian Cup™ in Australia.

With the LOC soon to be established this role will initially be contracted to Football Australia, transitioning to the LOC once established.

The Manager - Broadcast and Media Operations role will be responsible for comprehensive planning, coordination, and execution of all matters related to Broadcast and Media Operations.

Please note that this role is fixed term until April 2025.

Duties & Responsibilities: 

  • Attention to all AFC requirements outlined in the Organising Association Agreement OAA), Stadium Technical Annex (STA), List of Requirements, Policies/ Guidelines and other AFC directives.
  • Refine planning for operational spaces to ensure consistent, seamless integration and delivery of all broadcast and media operations elements at venues, including Stadiums and Training Sites.
  • Represent the interests of Media and Broadcast Client Groups in LOC Working Groups and feed-back relevant information from other LOC Program Areas.
  • Comprehensive documentation of Venue Operations processes and procedures.
  • Recruitment of Tournament Time staff to deliver services for Media and Broadcast Client Groups in accordance with agreed service levels.
  • Support the planning and execution of stakeholder visits and workshops (e.g. Host Broadcaster and Rights Holder visits), facilitating venue access, transport and accommodation, in conjunction with the AFC and other LOC Program Areas.
  • Close coordination with the AFC, Host Broadcaster and Rights Holding Broadcast Partners, as well as their appointed contractors to ensure cohesive planning and implementation of broadcast and media logistics for Matchday and Non-Matchday activities.
  • Support the Media and Broadcast Operations elements of the Final Draw

ABOUT YOU

Experience, Skills and Qualifications: 

  • Operational experience planning and delivering services for international and domestic Rights Holding Broadcasters.
  • Understanding of Broadcast Production planning, technical supplier deliverables and tournament time operations.
  • Extensive experience in planning and delivering services for international and domestic media at major sporting events.
  • Exceptional communication and decision-making skills, liaising with a variety of stakeholders, with a focus on achieving budget and operational efficiencies.
  • Experience working within a multi-dimensional large-scale project or series of projects within a fixed timeframe and high-pressure environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a diverse team, whilst ensuring achievement of organisational wide alignment and collaboration of stakeholders.
  • A strong attention to detail in the preparation of planning documents, communication, and reports.

  • Working with children check (paid/employee) or state-based equivalent 
  • International Criminal History Record for each country (other than Australia) in which you have resided for 12 months or more in the last 10 years (if applicable)
