About the Brisbane Bullets:

The Brisbane Bullets are one of ten basketball clubs that form the National Basketball League (NBL) competition. Based in the Sunshine State, the Bullets are Brisbane's oldest professional sporting Club with a rich history of success - dating back to 1979.

The Brisbane Bullets aim to inspire and nurture future generations of basketball fanatics by embracing the Queensland basketball community and becoming the leading club for the state. The National Basketball League (NBL) is regarded as one of the premier basketball organizations in the world, home to some of the world's best athletes, and is in an exceptional growth phase worldwide.

About the Opportunity:

The Brisbane Bullets Community & Development Manager is responsible for delivering impactful participation, development, and academy basketball programs through user-pay, partnership, and funding models. This hands-on role involves managing key administrative functions, fostering strong stakeholder relationships, coordinating bookings, and overseeing briefing processes for Community Engagement activities. Additionally, you will step onto the court to deliver coaching sessions as needed, ensuring a dynamic and engaging experience for all participants.

Key Responsibilities

Community Engagement Administration

  • Oversee the day-to-day administration of Community Engagement programs.
  • Manage communications with stakeholders, program users, and general enquiries.
  • Process bookings for programs, player appearances, and school programming.
  • Assist with registration processes and customer support.

Program Delivery & Event Coordination

  • Facilitate and deliver coaching sessions for children and adults of varying skill levels.
  • Provide on-court coaching for Brisbane Bullets Community Engagement Programs and dual-diploma education programs in partnership with TAFE QLD.
  • Support operational and event deliverables for the wider organisation.
  • Coordinate game-day activations, including managing coaches and volunteers.

Player & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Develop promotional briefings for player appearances.
  • Recruit players, coaches, and volunteers for programs and events.

Media, Marketing, & Content Creation

  • Assist in developing media and marketing strategies to promote programs.
  • Support the creation of engaging content for community initiatives.

Business Development

  • Collaborate with the General Manager - Community Engagement & Operations on business development opportunities.
  • Identify and pursue partnerships, sponsorships, and funding opportunities.
  • Build relationships with schools, community organisations, and businesses to drive program participation.
  • Track and report on program success metrics.

Game Day Assistance

  • Support pre-game setup, post-game pack down, and other game-day duties as required.

About the Ideal Candidate:

  • Demonstrated experience in coaching or playing basketball.
  • Strong background in managing the administration and delivery of sporting programs.
  • Proven ability to work independently, multitask, and prioritise workloads.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Comfortable handling confidential and sensitive information.

Qualifications

  • Basketball coaching Level 2 qualification (or willingness to obtain).
  • Level 1 coaching qualification with high-level playing experience considered.
  • Valid driver's licence and the ability to travel regionally.
  • Valid Blue Card.
