The Carlton Reserves, our VFL team, play a pivotal role in our football program, serving as a development pathway for players and staff. The VFL program is tasked with supporting the effective development of AFL talent while providing players and staff with a high-performance environment.

About the Role

The Club is seeking to appoint VFL Sports Trainers to join our pool of Trainers supporting the VFL Program. The VFL Trainer is responsible for providing high level injury management, soft tissue treatment and other sports training services to our VFL players at training and on match days as required.

Key Responsibilities

As a VFL Trainer you will be responsible for the provision of sports training and massage services to VFL Players, which includes:

• Player preparation including strapping and massage on training/ match days
• Providing immediate injury management on training/ match days
• Liaising with VFL medical and high-performance staff in relation to player injury management
• Providing soft tissue treatment to players as required
• Providing players with appropriate hydration both on and off the field.

Experience, Skills and Attributes

• Level 1 Sports Trainer and/ or Qualified Medical Professional (required)
• At least 1 year of experience working as a Sports Trainer at the VFL or similar level (desirable)
• Demonstrated ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
• Proven problem-solving ability
• The ability to work as part of a diverse team
• High level of organisational and time management skills
• Approachable nature with a strong work ethic
• Optimistic and adaptable in a fast-paced and challenging environment
