“Nunawading Basketball” established in 1963, runs competitions and programs for over 1,300 domestic and 45 representative teams (Nunawading Spectres) comprising 14,000+ registered participants. Nunawading Basketball provides junior and senior athletes with a sporting and social infrastructure to develop and promote personal, team and social skills in a sporting environment.
Nunawading Basketball have a fantastic opportunity for an energetic, highly motivated and well organised individual to become an integral part of its team as the General Manager - Leagues & Competitions.
Reporting to the CEO, this newly created role is responsible for managing the competition staff across the Junior Domestic, Senior Domestic, 3X3 and Inclusion leagues and competitions.
The role requires strong business and financial acumen and is responsible for the day-to-day financial administration of the organisation.

Key Management Responsibilities Include:
Management oversight of staff responsible for domestic leagues and competitions including Junior Domestic, Senior Domestic, Inclusion and 3X3.
Key Business Development Responsibilities Include:
Responsible for the continuous improvement of the Nunawading Basketball "product" delivered to the community including competition improvments, compliance and club development.
Key Financial Responsibilities Include:
Responsibility for the day-to-day financial adminstration including:
- Bookkeeping, Data Entry & Reconciliations
- Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivables and Banking
- Payroll, Superannuation, BAS/PAYG, WorkCover, Payroll Tax
- Benchmarking, Business Analysis and Management Reporting
The successful candidate will require the following attributes:
- Tertiary Qualification in Business, Accounting or Sports Management
- Excellent computer skills (particularly Excel)
- A strong understanding of the PlayHQ system
- A good understanding of community sport and preferably the Basketball industry
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to manage a diverse team and balance priorities
- Ability to quickly build rapport and manage a wide range of stakeholders
- A strong personal commitment to the values of Nunawading Basketball
