Australian Athletics (AA) is the governing body for Athletics in this country and is a National Sporting Organisation whose major partner is the Australian Sports Commission. AA is responsible for all athletics activity, including high performance, participation, coaching, officiating, juniors, para-athletics, domestic and international competition. AA has a critical role in leading, fostering and encouraging participation in athletics in Australia and promoting excellence in performance.
Heading towards the 2032 Brisbane Olympics & Paralympics, it is an exciting time to join our Integrity Team, we are currently seeking to recruit an Integrity Officer.
About the Role
We are looking for someone to join our team and support the implementation of the National Integrity Framework (NIF) as well as undertake a diverse range of other integrity-related matters across the athletics landscape including complaint handling, investigations, policy development and education delivery.
Your core duties will include:
- Serving as a key contact for integrity matters raised by stakeholders, providing guidance and support on safeguarding and integrity issues.
- Managing investigations and complaints raised, inlcuding liasing with external agencies and stakeholders, and enforcement of sanctions or safety measures.
- Developing, implementing, and evaluating safeguarding policies and initiatives to promote inclusivity and safety for all, especially children and vulnerable people.
- Supporting the delivery of Australian Athletics' integrity education, training and resources to ensure compliance, and bulding sport and system capability.
- Providing quality support and advice to Australian Athletics and Member Associations in relation to reports and dispute management.
What we are looking for:
We are seeking someone who displays ongoing enthusiasm and initiative for creating safe and inclusive environments for individuals, particularly children and vulnerable people, to participate in Athletics. Someone who can adapt their communication and stakeholder management skills to help AA strengthen their integrity practices over multiple areas of the organisation.
Ideally you will have:
- Strong understanding and knowledge of safeguarding issues, integrity-related policies, Child Safeguarding legislation and Child Safe Standards.
- Understanding of the Australian sport system.
- Proven ability to wokr independently or under limited guidance and exercise judgement to make decisions with integrity and intitiative.
- Experience in managing complaints and conducting investigations.
- Proven ability to raise the profile of ethical and integrity issues, policy and reporting.
- A strong commitment to clean sport and abiding by AA's National Integrity Framework suite of policies including the Australian National Anti-doping policy, Safeguarding Children and Young Persons Policy, and Code of Conduct.
- Hold and maintain a valid Working with Children Check and (or ability to hold) Police Check.
