Artistic Swimming Australia (ASA) is the national body that governs Artistic Swimming, formally known as Synchronised Swimming, in Australia. We aim to foster a supportive and dynamic environment that ensures the success of our athletes, coaches, and staff across all states and territories.
Artistic Swimming Australia is embarking on an exciting chapter as we drive the next stage of high performance across the organisation. As part of our strategic goals, we are seeking a passionate and experienced General Manager, People & Culture, to advance organisational effectiveness, support cultural excellence, and enhance the professional development and wellbeing of our team.
About the role
Reporting directly to the Board, the GM People & Culture will play a key leadership role in shaping ASA’s people strategy and supporting best-practice HR frameworks. This role will lead initiatives across governance, training and development, policy implementation, integrity, and wellbeing to create a positive, inclusive, and high-performing environment.
Key duties will include:
- Developing and embedding people strategies, frameworks, and policies that support a thriving workforce.
- Strengthening communication and alignment between the Board, staff, and key stakeholders.
- Overseeing training, professional development, and accreditation programs for staff and coaches.
- Driving integrity, wellbeing, and culture-building initiatives across the organisation.
- Developing and implementing a robust onboarding process for new staff and coaches, including an induction to the Australian High Performance (HP) sport system.
About you
We are seeking a proactive and strategic HR leader with a passion for people and culture. Ideally, we are looking for someone with:
- Experience in a senior HR or People & Culture leadership role, ideally in sport or the not-for-profit sector.
- Proven ability to develop and implement people strategies, frameworks, and policies that align with organisational goals.
- A proven track record of implementing people strategies that drive culture and organisational effectiveness.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder engagement skills
- A commitment to integrity, wellbeing, and continuous professional development.
