The Head of Netball is responsible for organising and administering the netball sports program at all levels on the Corio campus (from Year 5 to Year 12). The role is offered part-time on a 6-month fixed-term contract. Note that this role will require you to work a mixture of days, afternoons and some Saturdays and Public Holidays.
The position encompasses five broad areas (administration, management, professional development, planning and facilitating and communication) and effectively spans the entire year.
It not only deals with the in-season but the off season where pre-season training is managed and planning for the upcoming season is completed.
About the role
Key responsibilities of this position include:
Pre-season preparation
- Sourcing and allocating staff
- Booking transport, catering, venues and organisation of umpires
- Preparation of fixtures
In-season
- Ensure all training sessions are appropriately staffed daily
- Supporting and managing Coaches and players
- Managing budgets
- Organising professional development sessions
- Team selection
- Managing staffing, students, and fixtures during the season
End of the Season
- Coordinate and submit nominations for colours awards within Netball
- Organise and facilitate end of season functions and awards
- Facilitate completion of team photographs
- Complete all administrative tasks required to complete the season
- Attend end of season APS sport review meetings
- Formally review the season with the Director of Sport
About you
- You will have previous experience coordinating sport and overseeing the development, implementation, and evaluation of a sports program
- Previous experience and involvement in the development of sports skills and teams in a coaching capacity within an educational setting
- Applicant must be available for an immediate start
The successful candidate will be required to obtain a Victorian Working with Children Check (Employee) and a National Criminal History Check.
