Athletics in Australia is entering an exciting new era as we look toward Brisbane 2032, and there’s no better time to be part of the action!
We’re Capital Athletics, the peak body for athletics in the ACT and surrounding regions, leading the sport from grassroots to elite. We put athletes, coaches, officials, volunteers, and spectators first, working hard to create epic competitions, incredible pathways, and a thriving athletics community.
We’re a small, tight-knit team that keeps it casual in approach but professional in delivery - we take our sport seriously, but we love what we do and have fun doing it!
Now, we need a Competitions & Pathways Coordinator to help us make it all happen.
ABOUT THE ROLE
This isn’t just another admin job. It’s fast-paced, hands-on, and dynamic, you’ll be at the heart of delivering competitions, state teams, and pathways for athletes chasing their dreams.
Your year will be split between:
- Running competitions - Supporting the delivery of our competition calendar including our major athletics events, making sure every race, jump, and throw runs smoothly.
- Managing State Teams - Helping our best athletes get to national events, handling logistics, and making sure they have everything they need to compete at their best.
Some days, you’ll be behind the scenes, making sure everything is locked in. Other days, you’ll be on the ground, making things happen in real-time, thinking on your feet, solving problems, and bringing energy to every event.
WE’RE LOOKING FOR SOMEONE WHO:
- Thrives under pressure - Sports events move fast, and you’ll need to keep things running smoothly.
- Is a problem solver = When things don’t go to plan, you’ll figure out how to fix them.
- Communicates like a pro = You’ll be dealing with athletes, coaches, officials, and volunteers, so clear messaging is key.
- Has a little experience in sport/events = You might have worked in event operations, sports admin, logistics, or team management.
- Has a connection to athletics = Whether you’ve competed, coached, officiated, or been involved in another way, you understand the sport and the people in it.
