Description

Baseball NSW is seeking a highly motivated, enthusiastic and well organised individual to join our team in the role of Development Officer. BNSW is committed to delivering high quality skill development opportunities to our membership, giving all players the best chance to achieve their goals.

The successful applicant will report to the Manager of Baseball Operations and will be based at our Headquarters at Blacktown International Sports Park at Rooty Hill.

The key responsibilities will be –

  • Drive the development of baseball, both male and female, throughout the state of NSW
  • Ensure that sustainable strategies are in place that seek to provide advancement opportunities for players, designed with the intent of stimulating life-long engagement in the sport.
  • Assist in the preparation and coaching of NSW Representative teams at various competitive tournaments.
  • Assess and counsel athletes and prepare competition programs.
  • Assist in the talent identification of potential players for our High Performance and representative programs.
  • Coordinate and conduct the Underpinning High-Performance Programs (Player Development and Emerging Programs)
  • Coordinate and conduct the Female competitions and development programs
  • Assist in the delivery of Camps and Clinics each school holiday period
  • Assist in a coaching capacity where required within the Baseball NSW High-Performance Programs
  • Assist in liaising with Baseball Australia on potential national team players
  • Assist in the training of NSW based players selected in National squads
  • Provide assistance with any other reasonable Baseball Operations related matters that may arise from time to time.
  • Maintain development technologies & database management
  • Increase the visibility and awareness of Baseball NSW

Qualifications and Experience -

  • Hold a Level C coach accreditation in baseball or willing to obtain one
  • Must hold a current NSW Drivers Licence
  • Have at least 2 years of coaching youth baseballers at representative level
  • Have a current Working with Children Check
  • Good planning and organisational skills
  • Must have a passion for the development of youth baseballers
  • Must have an understanding of the High-Performance landscape in Australian baseball.
