Employment Status: FTE 0.8 (With a view to Full-Time)
The Australian Flying Disc Association (AFDA) Limited is recognised as the national sporting organisation responsible for flying disc sports (particularly Ultimate Frisbee and Disc Golf) in Australia.
Key AFDA activities include planning and delivering participation programs, including Sporting Schools; national open, women’s and mixed events for adult and youth age groups; advising, coordinating and supporting Member Organisations in delivering grassroots and pathway events and programs; ensuring the integrity of the sport; developing high level players and facilitating Australia’s national teams for international events under the World Flying Disc Federation (WFDF).
Key Result Areas / Duties and Responsibilities
National Teams and Elite Pathways
Coordinate, deliver, and/or facilitate:
- An overall strategy for a successful and sustainable high-performance program for flying disc across all disciplines
- The development and review of policies and procedures and/or other supporting documentation relating to the effective delivery of national team campaigns
- The development and coordination of budgets, project plans and systems to support national team campaigns, whilst ensuring compliance with AFDA financial policies and processes
- The selection and management of national team coaches and officials
- National team operations, provide guidance, advice and support to coaches and managers
- National team preparations including ensuring that they are organised, equipped and supported to the highest levels possible within budget
- Stakeholder relations and communications with WFDF, national teams, and key stakeholders in relation to the coordination and delivery of national teams and campaigns
- National team and elite pathway compliance with Sport Integrity Australia and AFDA integrity policies
Events Coordination and Delivery
Coordinate and deliver the following AFDA events (and/or others as assigned from time to time):
- Australian Beach Ultimate Championships
- Australian Youth Ultimate Championships
- Australian U22 Ultimate Championships
- Australian Masters Ultimate Championships
Inclusive of, but not limited to:
- Event operations, delivery, locations/venues, budgets, project plans, systems, reviews, and improvements, to deliver national events at a high standard
- Communication with Member Organisations, relevant Stakeholders, and Clubs, so that event particulars and processes are known and complied with
- The application of AFDA rules and policies prior to and during events
- The health and safety of event staff, participants and spectators
- Assist the Coordinator (Events, Communications, and Advancement) with the delivery of the AFDA events assigned to them.

Availability: Be prepared to work evenings and weekends if required and travel to meetings and events
