Squash Australia is seeking candidates with skill sets that will complement those of the current Board. The following skill areas have been identified as desired skills required to help drive success against the organisation’s strategic objectives.
You will have deep expertise and experience in at least one of the following areas:
- Experience, connections and influence at an international or national sports level, especially as it relates to major events or organisations such as the Olympics, IOC and AOC.
- Government advocacy and influence relating to grants, facilities and major events
- Technology related to enhanced member experience, cyber and data security and use of AI
The following capabilities will also be highly valued as part of the selection process:
- Knowledge of high-performance pathways and development within a sporting environment
- Marketing and promotion
- Event management of sporting events, competitions and programs
The Board is committed to diversity and as such is seeking to appoint at least one female as well as at least one Director from Queensland from this selection process. People from diverse backgrounds are strongly encouraged to apply.
The commitment required
The Squash Australia Board meets bi-monthly with at least two meetings held in person at an agreed location, other meetings are held virtually. Directors are expected to attend 80% of meetings in a calendar year including the Annual General Meeting (held in November).
Squash Australia has a number of Board appointed sub committees and Directors may be appointed to sit on these committees from time to time.
