About Masters Swimming Queensland (MSQ)
Masters Swimming Queensland (MSQ) is a not-for-profit organisation committed to supporting and encouraging adults, regardless of age and ability, to swim regularly through training, competition, and participation so that they can improve their mental and physical health, fitness and wellbeing.
MSQ operates separately from Swimming Queensland (SQ) under its own Constitution and Bylaws, with funding and partnership agreements with SQ. MSQ is a State entity of Masters Swimming Australia (MSA) and embraces the MSA ethos of:

Position Objective
The position of MSQ Event Coordinator is a newly created role to support the growth of MSQ events and program offerings and will provide:
- Administrative functions for event and program delivery of MSQ and its member clubs
- Delivery support for upcoming major MSQ competitions including:
- North Qld Championships, September 2025 - Townsville
- QLD State Championships, November 2025 - Brisbane
- MSA National Championships, April 2026 - Brisbane
- QLD State Championships, July 2026 - Townsville
- Pan Pacific Masters Games, November 2026 - Gold Coast
- Coordinate the activities of the MSQ Major Events Delivery Volunteer Teams as required
Reporting Structure and Term
This position is a part-time, fixed-term role to 30 June 2026 and reports directly to the MSQ Business Manager.
Work primarily from remote office, with some requirements for work in the Swimming Qld offices at Chandler, QLD, and some onsite work during event deliveries.
Some evenings and weekends will be required to support volunteer committee meetings and MSQ event delivery and some travel may be required to support events.
Position Description
- Assist in the planning, coordination and promotion of MSQ events and programs
- Develop event and program information for member clubs and MSQ
- Assist during MSQ events and competitions deliveries as required
- Develop competition reports via Meet Manager, including meet program, psych sheet, session report, etc, as required
- Responding to email and phone enquiries
- Coordinate volunteers as required for events
- Support events as required, which may require travel
- Manage the sponsor coordination and obligations at events as required
- Assist in developing event and program content for board papers and annual report
Skills and Experience
The successful candidate will demonstrate:
- Experience in event or program administration and/or delivery
- Experience with swimming is preferred but not essential
- High level of proficiency in Microsoft, Canva or similar and Meta Business Suite
- Experience with Meet Manager and Swim Central preferred, but not essential
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work within a team and autonomously
