Breakers Swimming Club is proud to be recognised as an A Grade Club in Western Australia - a testament to our unwavering commitment to excellence and athlete development. Our Development Squad is home to some of the state’s most promising Junior State swimmers, all with aspirations of competing on the national stage. We are now seeking a motivated, strategic, and inspirational coach to guide this exceptional group of young athletes on their journey.

As the Squad Coach for our Development Squad, you will play a vital role in progressing athletes from junior levels to National Age competition. Your leadership will shape not only their performance in the pool but also their character, work ethic, and love for the sport.
Location: Craigie Leisure Centre, Craigie, Perth, Australia
Hours: Minimum of 15 hours on pool deck, with additional hours availble for planning, administration, meetings and swim meets.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the Development Squad across training sessions, competitions, and club events
- Design and implement structured training programs that emphasise technical skills, mindset, and aerobic development
- Motivate and inspire athletes to achieve their full potential
- Analyse performance data and provide targeted, constructive feedback
- Collaborate closely with other coaches to ensure a seamless and effective athlete development pathway
- Foster a positive, inclusive squad environment with strong team values
- Build and maintain productive relationships with swimmers, parents, and staff
- Support the Head Coach with additional duties as needed
What We’re Looking For
- Minimum 3 years’ coaching experience, with a strong record of developing athletes at various stages of progression
- Proven leadership and excellent communication skills
- Sound knowledge of swimming technique, athlete development, and the sport’s broader landscape
- Ability to support and challenge diverse individuals while fostering a cohesive team culture
- Positive, professional attitude with a focus on respect, trust, and high standards
- SCTA Development Coach certification or higher
