About the Role
Join our new team at the brand-new Sports & Aquatic Centre at Plenty Campus, featuring a 25-metre learn-to-swim pool, an eight-lane pool, and state-of-the-art strength and conditioning facilities.
We are seeking a part time Swim Coach to develop and implement training programs that enhance swimmer performance at all skill levels, with a focus on competitive coaching. This position requires expertise in swimming techniques, race strategies, and performance analysis to help athletes achieve their full potential. The successful candidate will bring enthusiasm, energy, and a positive attitude, along with excellent communication skills and the ability to adapt their coaching to meet the needs of individual swimmers.
If you're an experienced Swim Coach who is available on an ongoing, part time basis (22.5 hours per week), working Monday through to Saturday, with some Sunday shifts required, for competitions, we'd love to hear from you!
Your Everyday
Working closely with the Aquatics Manager and Head Coach, you will:
- Inspire and motivate swimmers to develop strong, technically correct swimming skills
- develop and implement tailored training programs
- provide energetic, innovative, and tailored instruction that meets the needs of each swimmer
- observe, evaluate, and report on students' progress toward skill development goals
- foster an encouraging and respectful learning environment for swimmers and peers
- work independently and collaboratively as part of a team to ensure effective lesson delivery.
About You
- Minimum of two years’ experience in coaching a state squad or higher
- current level 2 First Aid Certificate and CPR
- possess a current Working with Children Check
- hold relevant qualifications including, ASCTA Bronze Level Coach or equivalent Competitive Strokes certification
- Lifeguard qualification
- ability to work effectively both independently and as a strong and valuable part of the team
- knowledge of Microsoft office
- have a sound knowledge of child safety protocols and compliance requirements.
