The VIS Para Multisport Coach will work alongside the Para Unit Lead & Para Sport Transition Coach to coach and support para athletes within the VIS Para Sport Unit.

This role is responsible for delivering structured, high-quality training sessions that foster athlete development across multiple sports. Sessions will be designed to build skills, enhance performance, and support athletes in reaching their individual sporting goals.

The coach will create an inclusive and positive training environment, ensuring athletes receive tailored guidance suited to their needs. This position is ideal for coaches looking to make a meaningful impact in a flexible, sessional capacity.

Job Responsibilities:

Coaching

• Work closely with the VIS Para Sport Unit Manager, Para Sport Transition Coach, NSO’s, SSA’s, Paralympics Australia and other Victorian Stakeholders to facilitate talent identification programs and initiatives.
• Support talent identification and development activities for para-sport within Victoria.
• Deliver a high performance daily training environment and program for developing para identified athletes inclusive of individual skills training and group multi-skill sessions and sport specific coaching across all para sports.
• Develop, monitor and evaluate athletes that can progress to being categorised within their sport through the multi-sport training sessions and talent ID.
• Facilitate a quality training environment at the VIS that is tailored to individual needs, accessible and safe for para-athletes.
• Provide coaching support for development athletes across a range of para-sports
• Support the delivery of Talent ID opportunities to identify and target potential para talent that are either new to high performance sport or are currently in the sport talent pipeline across all para sports.
• Work collaboratively with coaches across all sports to ensure talent pathways for para athletes are activated.

Professional Development & Reporting

• Engage in professional development opportunities, including AIS, VIS and Coach Development initiatives and applied coach education programs.
• Report as required to VIS management on program outcomes, athlete development and tracking, and technical advancements within the VIS Para Sport Unit program.
