The Role
Caulfield Grammar School has a proud history in Rowing, and we currently have an opportunity for an Intermediate Girls VIII Rowing Coach & Lead to drive excellence and performance throughout the Intermediate division of the rowing program.
Reporting to the Head of Rowing and working alongside the Senior & Junior Rowing leads, the Intermediate Girls VIII Rowing Coach & Lead will deliver a great rowing experience for our students, ensuring that Caulfield Grammar School (CGS) values, policies and procedures are applied effectively through all training sessions and regatta environments.
This 6-month fixed-term opportunity commences in Term 4, 2025 (6 October) with the potential for casual work prior to this date as we prepare for the rowing season ahead. Our program operates from Caulfield Grammar Rowing Campus (Albert Park Boat Shed/Yarra River Boat Shed) and requires travel to other locations for regattas and training camps as required.
Key Duties
- Develop technical skill (aligned with the agreed approach presented by the Head of Rowing), fitness, teamwork and leadership capabilities for all students
- Assist with the development of camp training plans, including supervision at regattas
- Provide performance feedback and analysis to students across the entire Inter program.
- Provide equitable opportunities to students to achieve their highest potential during the season and demonstrate their capacity and progress on merit
- Model and live the Caulfield Grammar School values and behaviours.
Skills and Experience
- Rowing Coaching experience at Secondary School level or in Community Sport at the elite level
- Ability to manage teams of coaches and a variety of key stakeholders
- Experience coaching junior athletes
- Valid coaching accreditation or equivalent is desirable
- Level 1 First Aid and Anaphylaxis Certification or be prepared to obtain these
- Hold or willing to obtain an Employment Working With Children Check
- Availability to work early mornings, weekends, public holidays and attendance at training camps during the season.
