Description

Australian golf is growing – and so are we.

ABOUT THE ROLE – Australian Golf Centre, Cheltenham VIC | Full-time | Ongoing

Australian golf is booming, and golf’s peak bodies in the PGA of Australia and Golf Australia are driving the future of the sport. Through it’s joint venture business Australian Golf Services, the Public Affairs and Marketing team are responsible for changing the perceptions of the game and continuing to inspire more Australian to love and play golf.

The Australian Golf Strategy sets a clear path that “All golf is golf - and all of us can be golfers.” From community clubs to inclusive programs and school-aged beginners, we’re on a mission to grow the game and make golf a sport for life for more Australians.

As Marketing Lead - Participation, working exclusively on Golf Australia participation initiatives, you’ll play a critical role in bringing this vision to life. This role isn’t about hype - it’s about purposeful, strategic marketing that drives participation, builds loyalty, and helps more Australians discover the lifelong joy of golf.

You’ll lead the national marketing for some of our key participation products, including MyGolf powered by Ripper GC, Get into Golf, Golf Australia Club, TeeMates and marketing activity to golf club members.

This is a hands-on role that blends strategy with delivery. You'll be planning campaigns, writing and reviewing copy, collaborating with agencies and stakeholders, managing budgets, and tracking performance, all in service of growing the game.

What you'll be doing:

  • Leading marketing efforts across the full participant lifecycle from acquisition to retention.
  • Delivering end-to-end campaigns that are insight-led, measurable and audience-centric.
  • Crafting clear, engaging messaging across channels like EDMs, SMS, social media, and paid digital.
  • Managing owned media placements and leveraging paid opportunities for greater impact.
  • Working closely with internal teams (e.g. product, digital, participation) and agency partners to align messaging and priorities.
  • Supporting the commercial team to co-create campaigns with partners and sponsors.
  • Juggling timelines, budgets, and stakeholder expectations across multiple projects.

What this role really looks like day-to-day:

While there’s plenty of room for big ideas, there’s also a steady rhythm of building marketing plans, writing emails, briefing designers, copywriting, checking campaign performance and updating stakeholders. You'll be juggling priorities across multiple products and timeframes so someone who thrives in that environment will love it here.

What you’ll bring:

  • A tertiary qualification in marketing, communications or a related discipline.
  • 5+ years’ experience in consumer or digital marketing roles, ideally across multiple products or program streams.
  • Proven experience leading end-to-end marketing campaigns - from strategy through to execution and reporting.
  • Strong copywriting and content development skills, with the ability to tailor messaging across channels and audiences.
  • A solid grasp of marketing principles, brand execution, and campaign planning.
  • Data-savvy and insight-driven - you know how to use analytics to shape and refine campaigns.
  • A confident project manager, skilled at working across cross-functional teams and managing agency relationships.
  • Highly organised with excellent time management skills - you thrive in fast-paced environments and can juggle multiple projects without losing focus.
  • A team player who can work autonomously while actively contributing to a collaborative, high-performing culture.
  • A practical, solutions-focused mindset - you're happy to roll up your sleeves and keep things moving when the pressure’s on.

Why You’ll Love Working With Us:

At Golf Australia, we know people do their best work when they feel supported - in work and in life. Here are just a few of the ways we bring that to life:
