About the role

Equestrian Australia, the national governing body for equestrian sport in Australia, is seeking an experienced Finance Manager to join their dynamic team. As a full-time role, you will be responsible for overseeing the organisation's financial operations, ensuring accurate reporting, and supporting the strategic goals of the business.

What you'll be doing

  1. Playing a lead role in the financial management of Equestrian Australia (EA) to enable the long-term sustainability of operations.
  2. Developing and driving the creation and management of a best practice finance function to facilitate quality and timely service to members.
  3. The Finance Management and coordination of the accounting and reporting operations of  EA, providing and interpreting timely and relevant accounting information.
  4. Ensuring that there are sound accounting and administrative processes and systems.
  5. Contributing to the implementation of strategic initiatives, including financial modelling of proposed initiatives and business cases
  6. Contributing to policy and management decision-making including making recommendations on financial policy.
  7. Ensuring financial reports in accordance with approved policies and procedures and which meet statutory requirements.
  8. Controlling and interpreting timely and relevant accounting and statistical information to assist in the profitable and economic control of the company's operations.
  9. Developing and maintaining effective financial information systems, which meet the needs of operational personnel and management.

What we're looking for

  1. Degree in Business, Commerce or Finance or equivalent
  2. CA or CPA qualified
  3. Strong technical accounting knowledge
  4. Minimum 10 years’ experience in the Compliance or Risk Management industry
  5. Sport industry knowledge a plus, but not essential
