Hunter Sports Centre is one of the largest and most progressive gymnastics clubs in the Hunter Region. We offer programs from recreational gymnastics to high-performance MAG and WAG, and we’re committed to providing world-class facilities and opportunities for athletes of all ages and abilities.
About the Role
We are seeking passionate and motivated Gymnastics Coaches to join our team in two distinct roles:
- Recreational Gymnastics Coach – Deliver fun, safe, and inclusive gymnastics experiences for participants of all ages and abilities, focusing on foundational skills and positive engagement.
- Competition Gymnastics Coach – Provide high-quality coaching for athletes in competitive programs, supporting skill development, competition preparation, and athlete progression.
Both roles are casual positions with flexible hours, including evenings and weekends. Opportunities may arise through training and development to progress from recreational to competitive coaching.
Key Responsibilities
Recreational Gymnastics Coach
- Deliver structured recreational gymnastics sessions that promote skill development, fun, and safety.
- Foster a welcoming and inclusive environment for all participants.
- Ensure compliance with child-safe practices and safety protocols.
- Assist with equipment setup and pack down.
- Collaborate with other coaches and respond to feedback to improve practice.
Competition Gymnastics Coach
- Deliver structured training sessions aligned with Gymnastics Australia frameworks.
- Support athlete progression and competition readiness.
- Assist with competition preparation and event coordination.
- Maintain compliance with safety standards and child-safe practices.
- Engage positively with athletes and families to support retention and performance.
What We’re Looking For
Recreational Gymnastics Coach – Essential Criteria
- Current Fundamental Coaching Accreditation (Gymnastics Australia)
- Experience working with children in a recreational or sporting environment
- Commitment to child-safe practices and inclusive coaching
- Current NSW Working with Children Check
- Current Class C Driver’s License
Desirable:
Competition Gymnastics Coach – Essential Criteria
- Current Advanced Coaching Accreditation (Gymnastics Australia) in a gym sport discipline
- Demonstrated experience coaching athletes in competitive gymnastics programs.
- Strong understanding of athlete development and safety standards.
- Commitment to child-safe practices and inclusive coaching
- Current NSW Working with Children Check
- Current Class C Driver’s License
