Are you passionate about basketball and developing the next generation of referees, scoretable officials, and statisticians? Westgate Basketball Association (WBA) is seeking a Technical Officials Program Manager to lead, develop and grow our Technical Officials Program.
This is an exciting opportunity to make a lasting impact on one of Victoria’s fastest-growing basketball associations, working closely with Basketball Victoria to deliver best-practice officiating pathways, training, and support.
About the Role
As the Technical Officials Program Manager, you’ll:
- Lead the recruitment, development, and retention of referees, referee coaches, scoretable, and statistician personnel.
- Deliver training, mentoring, and accreditation programs in line with Basketball Victoria requirements.
- Manage rostering across domestic, VJBL, Big V, and open-age competitions using Refbook.
- Support compliance with child safety, member protection, and tribunal requirements.
- Provide strong leadership at Saturday domestic competitions and key WBA events.
Prepare regular reports for the WBA Board and maintain strong relationships with Basketball Victoria.
What we are looking for?
We want a proactive and collaborative leader who can:
- Demonstrate knowledge of Basketball Victoria’s officiating landscape and pathways.
- Communicate clearly with referees, coaches, players, and stakeholders at all levels.
- Manage rostering, reporting, and administration with strong attention to detail.
- Build and sustain positive relationships with volunteers, referees, and external partners.
Essential requirements:
- Current Working with Children Check.
- Strong administration and IT skills (Excel, Refbook, HUDL).
- Victorian Driver’s License.
Desirable qualifications:
- BV Program Development Officer Accreditation.
- Level 3 (or higher) Referee Accreditation.
- Cert IV in Training & Assessment, or First Aid
Work flexibly, including evenings and weekends, with a mix of onsite and remote hours.
