However, we're more than a team, we're a community that's united through our fans, Members, partners and region. We create moments of excitement and energy, giving our supporters a sense of belonging, a pride of place, and a reason to believe in us. Through our passion for the game, we create entertaining and emotive moments, experiences, and stories.

Our values guide everything we do: we're Selfless in putting our community first, Trustworthy in building genuine relationships, Accountable for our performance and decisions, and Relentless in our pursuit of excellence.

About the Role

Reporting to the Executive General Manager Marketing & Consumer, you'll lead the day to day marketing and content operations that drive fan engagement, brand awareness, and revenue generation. This role is pivotal in connecting our marketing department to the wider business, ensuring our content, campaigns, and creative output work seamlessly to deliver exceptional experiences for our fans and Members.

This is a full-time, permanent position. Due to the nature of professional sport, weekend work will be required throughout the NRL season to support match day operations and content capture.

Key Responsibilities

As our Head of Marketing and Content, you'll be the driving force behind our content and marketing strategy. Your day to day will look like...

  • Developing and executing comprehensive content strategies across all digital platforms, from social media to match day materials and fan engagement initiatives
  • Leading the planning, production, and quality assurance of all content using project management tools like Asana, while managing internal content requests and delivery timelines
  • Building and executing an annual marketing plan in partnership with the Marketing Manager that supports all key revenue drivers across Membership, ticketing, merchandise, and corporate hospitality
  • Establishing KPIs and measurement frameworks, conducting regular campaign performance analysis, and preparing comprehensive reports for executive leadership
  • Supporting the Marketing team with email marketing strategy, database segmentation, automation, and optimisation through testing and data analysis
  • Overseeing design and creative output to ensure brand consistency and quality standards are maintained across all materials and campaigns
  • Managing, mentoring, and developing your team to achieve individual and performance goals while fostering a collaborative, high performance culture
  • Acting as the link between marketing, design, and content functions across the business, supporting other teams with their campaigns and initiatives

Throughout everything you do, you'll use data insights to inform strategy adjustments and optimise future campaigns, ensuring every initiative reflects our values and drives measurable results for the club.

Above all, working in a sporting club means having the right attitude, being willing to get your hands dirty and a love of being part of the team.

About You

You bring tertiary qualifications in Marketing, Communications, Digital Media, or a related field, combined senior management level experience in marketing and/or content management roles, preferably in sports, entertainment, or relevant industries. Your proven experience in team leadership and staff management has prepared you to lead a high performing team, while your strong understanding of digital marketing channels, social media platforms, and content management systems ensures you can deliver results across multiple touchpoints.

Previous operational experience working in a sporting organisation or high performance sporting environment is desirable, as is demonstrated knowledge of rugby league and/or a rugby league background. You'll also need a current Working with Children check and Driver's Licence for this role.
