Sydney University Sport is home to over 40 sporting clubs and a proud history of competitive success and community involvement. Sydney University Australian National Football Club (SUANFC) competes in the AFL Sydney competition and is supported by elite athlete pathways, strong volunteer engagement, and a progressive Club Executive.

We are seeking a passionate and organised Operations Manager to lead and enhance SUANFC’s football operations, stakeholder engagement, and administrative delivery - ensuring sustained success on and off the field.

Key Responsibilities

You will be responsible for operational coordination across all club activities, including:

  • Club Football Operations - fixture management, match day delivery & competition compliance
  • Facility management - bookings and scheduling across all grades
  • Player and coach recruitment support & welfare coordination
  • Oversight of medical services and physiotherapy provision
  • Club communications - website, social media, newsletters, publications
  • Administration - contract management, policy compliance & reporting
  • Strategic planning - supporting delivery of business plans & annual reviews
  • Stakeholder engagement - working closely with SU Sport, AFL Sydney, NSW/ACT AFL, pathway clubs, and volunteers

Who We’re Looking For

A motivated and professional operator with a passion for AFL and sport development. You will bring:

  • Experience working in a multi-stakeholder sport environment
  • Knowledge of AFL Sydney or AFL NSW/ACT competitions (highly regarded)
  • Excellent communication and organisational capability
  • Ability to lead and influence diverse groups - including volunteers
  • Confidence with digital tools, admin systems, and finance processes
  • Strategic mindset and commercial acumen
  • Experience in a university-based or semi-professional sporting environment (highly regarded)
  • Sports administration qualifications or experience (ideal)
