About the role
Reporting to the Video Production Manager, this hands-on role is responsible for producing timely, engaging, and newsworthy video content that brings the Hawthorn Football Club’s stories to life across all digital platforms. You’ll play a key part in capturing the essence of the club - from match day moments to behind-the-scenes insights - ensuring every piece of content reflects our values and brand.
Key Responsibilities
- Capture high-quality footage of press conferences, player interviews, training sessions, and sponsor activations.
- Edit match footage into compelling highlight packages for fans and stakeholders.
- Produce tailored video content for internal departments and club sponsors, ensuring messaging is clear and impactful.
- Design and integrate video graphics that enhance storytelling and align with Hawthorn’s visual identity.
- Lead the execution of the club’s YouTube strategy, creating engaging long-form content that builds audience connection.
- Support studio-based filming, contributing to the creation of polished, professional content.
- Maintain and organise the video archive, ensuring footage is easily accessible and up to date.
- Develop content for social media channels that reflects the club’s values and content trademark.
- Ensure all video output is on-brand, consistent, and aligned with Hawthorn’s tone and style.
- Build and nurture strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, fostering collaboration and creative alignment.
Our ideal candidate
You’re a creative and technically skilled producer with a strong foundation in multimedia production and a passion for storytelling through video. You bring a mix of hands-on experience and strategic thinking to every project, and you thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
You’ll Bring:
- A solid understanding of pre-production planning, including script writing, shot list development, lighting setups, and clear communication with stakeholders.
- Strong skills in camera operation, with a keen eye for framing and proficiency in capturing high-quality audio.
- Proven experience in video and audio editing using a range of professional editing tools.
- Working knowledge of Apple Mac OS and creative software including Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop, and other technical tools related to video processing.
- Hands-on experience in a multimedia studio environment, with the ability to manage studio equipment and workflows.
- Familiarity with multimedia systems, including VMS operation and encoding for various output formats.
- A basic understanding of sports media production, particularly football, with the ability to tailor content to suit sporting audiences.
