Description

We are seeking a suitably qualified and experienced individual to join Croquet Australia (CA) as National Operations Manager. This position plays a major role in the day-to-day operations of CA.

The role will be the primary point of contact for CA for affiliates states, CA committees and external parties, and will be required to collaborate with these groups across a wide range of matters. The position is also responsible for leading the continued implementation of the RevSport member database, and administration of the system for all functions.

The successful candidate will have prior demonstrated experience in carrying out an operational role in a sporting environment.   The position will also be required to support the General Manager, CA Board and various committees in areas of logistics, administration and communications.

The position is a permanent, full-time role, offered as a work-from-home position, with location flexible.

About the Role

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following:

Administration and Management

  • Act as the first point of contact for State contacts, CA committee and external parties
  • Ensure compliance obligations are completed as required
  • Act as the CA Complaints Officer
  • Liaise with volunteers and committees as required
  • Manage stock control of merchandise and on-line purchases
  • Build relationships with contacts from Australian Sports Commission, Sport Integrity Australia and other relevant agencies

Communications

  • Engage with all stakeholders and build working relationships
  • Conduct surveys, circulate EOI’s etc and create meaningful data matrix for reporting purposes
  • Full responsibility for CA website, social media platforms and communication channels, including quarterly newsletter

Events

  • Develop and manage the CA Events Calendar
  • Negotiate with States and clubs to implement agreed schedule of events.
  • Maintain on-line entry process via RevSport and ensure website event information is current
  • Conduct review of events and upon completion and provide report to CA board.
  • Liaise with any relevant bodies concerning hosting of international events sanctioned by CA

Project Management

  • Take a lead operations role in various projects as required including but not limited to the following;        
    • National Learning Management System
    • National Database Implemenation
    • National Events

About You

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Possess qualifications in Sports Management or comparable experience in a sporting environment operational role (minimum 2 years)
  • Experience working with boards and volunteers
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels
  • Experience working with committees or volunteer-based organisations
  • Knowledge of current trends in sport
  • Experience in planning and managing events
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively in a small team, with limited supervision, across multiple tasks
  • Digital literacy with experience across Microsoft365 suite
  • Experience with membership database systems in a sporting environment.

Desirable:

  • Knowledge and experience with the sport of Croquet
  • Familiarity with digital tools and platforms for content creation and communications.
  • Ability to work evenings and on weekends if required.
