Description

Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs Rugby League Club are seeking expressions of interest from suitable applicants to work with the Nutrition parts of the High-Performance Department during the upcoming NRL pre- and regular season (2026). These positions are offered to newly graduated sports dietitians.

This is an excellent opportunity for sports dietitians interested in the field of high-performance sport to gain experience developing and running a nutrition program in a professional sporting team environment.

Roles

Trainees placed with the Bulldogs will assist the Club’s Nutrition program in the following areas:

  • Creating and implementing nutrition programs within the Pathways system.
  • Conducting nutrition consultations with Pathway Players.
  • Presenting to pathway groups around nutrition principles.
  • Fulfilling tasks that you see fit which may help individual Pathway Players. This may include gut training, sweat testing, meal plan creation, weight management, and supplement integration.

Trainees will also have the opportunity to shadow the NRL Nutrition Department, however, this is not mandatory.

Requirements

The successful candidates must possess the following attributes:

  • Registered with the SDA as a Sports Dietitian.
  • Working with Children Check (WWCC).
  • Be proactive, driven and mature.
  • Able to operate within a high-performance sport environment.
  • Respect the confidentiality of content of the high-performance program, be professional in conduct at all times and act with discretion when interacting with the playing group.
  • Be punctual and reliable in attendance.

Time Commitments

Each of the successful applicants will be required for 1-2 evenings per week for approximately 8 hours (total) during the NRL pre-season and in-season (NRL dates January 2026 - October 2026).

Sessions will be conducted at Belmore Sports Ground located in Belmore, NSW 2192.

The internship will commence on the 2nd February and will finish one (1) week after the end of the NRL season. Parking will be provided at the Club for the successful candidate.
