North West Sydney Football (NWSF) is recruiting up to two (2) Coach Developers to support delivery of coach and player development programs in the region. The role/s incorporate a total of 30 hours of work per week (delivered entirely by one Coach Developer, or 15 hours each by two (2) Coach Developers). The work is predominately spread across weeknight evenings (all year) and some weekends (during winter).

The coach development function of the role includes engaging with local NWSF clubs to deliver community coaching courses, coaching workshops, and model sessions, and prepare and distribute resources that assist local clubs and their coaches deliver a best possible environment for their players (where football is fun, engaging, safe, and provides an appropriate challenge to the player’s age and level of ability). The Coach Developer/s will also directly engage with local coaches, providing mentoring and advice.

The player development function of the role includes establishing the playing philosophy, periodised training plan, selection process, club engagement, coach selection and mentoring, player selection and review of the NWSF player development program (title to be confirmed) that spans the gap between local football and NPL football. Players in the program will be registered with local NWSF clubs, participate in additional training with NWSF, and compete in tournaments representing NWSF.

Essential Requirements

  • Relevant Coaching Accreditation
  • Working with Children / Working with Vulnerable People Check
  • AFC / FA C-Diploma Coaching Qualifications (minimum)
  • High level communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Ability to maintain composure under pressure
  • Ability to work successfully with staff, clubs, and other stakeholders in a harmonious atmosphere
  • Eligible to work in Australia

Desirable Criteria

  • Experience in delivering coaching courses
  • Knowledge of football in the NWSF region
