About the role

We’re looking for a proactive and skilled communicator who’s passionate about supporting young people. In this role, you’ll create written resources for clubs and members, help deliver camps, programs and events for young people, and support clubs to better connect with their nipper parents.

To thrive here, you’ll need excellent writing skills, strong initiative, and the ability to coordinate projects and work with a  wide range of people. This role suits someone with experience working with young people, producing written content, and juggling multiple tasks with confidence.

Some of the key duties will include:

  • Provide seasonal support for volunteers delivering the SLSNSW Nipper program, including pre-season, in-season, and off-season assistance.
  • Assist in the implementation of the Duke of Edinburgh Program within the Surf Life Saving NSW framework.
  • Support the organisation and execution of youth-oriented camps, programs and events.
  • Develop and maintain resources and communications to aid members in their Surf Life Saving involvement.
  • Manage and update content/resources on the SLSNSW website.

Essential Requirements

  • Drivers Licence
  • Understanding of youth engagement or youth development best practices
  • Experience in developing and maintaining relationships within a sporting or not for profit environment
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills along with excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Flexible attitude to work, including some evening and weekend work
  • Experience in project and event coordination, particularly youth-focused projects and parent participation.

Desirable Criteria

  • Sound computer skills particularly Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook
