Volleyball Queensland (VQ) is the peak body for volleyball in the state, supporting clubs, competitions and communities from grassroots through to high performance.
Our clubs are the heart of our sport, and we’re looking for an Events Coordinator (Schools) to help deliver our growing portfolio of school-based competitions, events and programs across the state.
If you love volleyball, enjoy working with people, and want a role where no two days look the same, this could be the perfect fit.
About the role
Reporting to the Events Lead (Schools), the Events Coordinator (Schools) plays a key role in delivering high-quality school competitions and programs that introduce students to volleyball and keep them engaged in the sport.
You’ll be involved in planning, coordinating and delivering school events from start to finish, working closely with schools, venues, referees, contractors and internal teams to ensure smooth, professional and positive event experiences.
This is a hands-on role with a strong mix of administration, coordination and on-the-ground event delivery.
Duties
- Acting as a key point of contact for schools and stakeholders regarding school-based competitions and programs
- Supporting the planning and delivery of VQ school events and initiatives
- Coordinating event logistics including venues, officials, casual staff and contractors
- Assisting with registrations, communications and school enquiries
- Supporting pre-event planning, rostering and post-event debriefs
- Maintaining event systems, documentation and reporting processes
- Providing hands-on support at events, including set-up and pack-down
- Working weekends and travelling regionally as required
About you
You’re someone who:
- Enjoys working with schools, teachers, volunteers and community stakeholders
- Has strong organisational and communication skills
- Is comfortable juggling multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Brings a positive, “here to help” attitude
- Is reliable, proactive and enjoys being part of a team
- Has an interest in sport, events or community programs (volleyball experience is a bonus, not a must)
Experience in sport administration, event coordination or school-based programs will be highly regarded.
Why join Volleyball Queensland?
At VQ, you’ll be part of a passionate and supportive team who genuinely love what they do. You’ll gain valuable experience in the sporting industry and play a meaningful role in introducing young people to volleyball across Queensland.
With VQ, you will enjoy:
- A fun, supportive and sport-focused workplace
- The chance to attend and be involved in major school and community events
- Professional development opportunities
- A role where your work directly impacts schools, students, and communities
