In 2025, PLC celebrated a historic 10th consecutive 1st VIII victory and secured its 13th straight IGSSA WA Head of the River Champion School Trophy and the Perpetual Trophy for Schoolgirl Premiers, an achievement unmatched.

Our rowing programme is well supported by excellent facilities, with a beautiful rowing shed located on the Swan River and strength and conditioning facilities on-site. On campus, our Lighthouse building is home to a weights room, cardio zones, recharge areas, and access to physiotherapy services. The Lighthouse is utilised by students, whether they are part of our high-performance sporting programmes or those prioritising a balanced active lifestyle.

Summary:

PLC is seeking an outstanding Head Coach - Rowing to provide technical leadership and coaching excellence across its highly regarded rowing programme. This role offers a unique opportunity to coach at the highest level of school rowing while contributing to a values-driven educational environment.

The successful applicant will lead performance outcomes while ensuring rowing remains inclusive, supportive and accessible to students of varying experience and aspiration. High performance is a defining and celebrated aspect of PLC Rowing. At the same time, we are committed to ensuring participation pathways remain strong for students who row for enjoyment, skill development and personal growth.

The College welcomes flexible proposals, including opportunities to combine this role with the Head of Rowing position, coaching, teaching or other value-add contributions to the wider School community.

About you:

You are an experienced and passionate rowing coach with a proven ability to develop athletes and lead performance programmes.

You will bring:

  • Significant rowing coaching experience, ideally within a high-performance environment
  • Strong technical expertise and athlete development capability
  • A commitment to safety, wellbeing and inclusive participation
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • Professionalism, integrity and sound judgement
  • Professional coaching qualifications are essential.

Experience in a successful rowing programme will be highly regarded. Teaching experience is welcome but not essential. A willingness to assist with the transportation of boats to competition locations is essential.
