The Whittlesea City Basketball Association (WCBA) is one of the fastest growing basketball associations in Melbourne’s northern suburbs. With a strong and passionate basketball community, WCBA delivers a wide range of competitions, programs, and tournaments for players of all ages and abilities.
We are currently seeking a motivated and organised Competitions Administrator to support the delivery and growth of our domestic competitions and major events.
About the Role
The Competitions Administrator plays a key role in the coordination and administration of WCBA’s junior and senior domestic competitions. Working closely with the General Manager, clubs, and volunteers, the successful applicant will help ensure competitions run smoothly and efficiently.
WCBA competitions operate across several venues on weekends and primarily at Mill Park Sports Stadium during weeknights. The role experiences peak periods during the commencement of competition seasons, with more flexible workloads outside these times.
A structured handover and training period will be provided by the current Competitions Administrator.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the placement and grading of teams within WCBA junior and senior domestic competitions
- Work in conjunction with domestic clubs and committees to ensure all registration protocols are adhered to
- Maintain and manage competition databases and league records
- Monitor potential grading concerns, working alongside the Operations Manager
- Coordinate and pre-plan finals rosters and court allocations
- Coordinate and oversee fixturing and grading for the WCBA Autumn Showdown Tournament
- Liaise with the Accounts Department regarding weekly and monthly invoicing processes
- Assist in the training and development of stadium and venue supervisors where required
- Provide administrative support to the WCBA Tribunal Chairperson when required
Essential Requirements
- Valid Working with Children Check (WWCC) or willingness to obtain
- Current Driver’s Licence
- Satisfactory Police Check, issued in the last 6 months.
- Ability to work autonomously and manage competing priorities
- First Aid Certification or willingness to obtain
- Excellent time management and organisational skills
- Strong computer literacy, including Microsoft 365
- Experience using Basketball Victoria PlayHQ administration system and TeamPay
Desirable Experience
- Relevant tertiary qualification or industry experience in sport administration
- Knowledge of basketball competitions and operations
