Peak Body for Motorcycle Sport | NSW & ACT
Full-Time | Executive Package
Motorcycling NSW has 25,000 participants, 90 affiliated clubs, nine competitive disciplines and a Tier 1 governance rating from the Australian Sports Commission. What it needs now is a CEO who can take all of that and build something bigger.
This is not a caretaker role. The Board has approved a 2026–2028 Strategic Plan with clear ambitions: grow participation, deepen financial resilience, secure better facilities, and raise MNSW’s profile as a credible voice in NSW sport and recreation policy. They want a CEO who will own that agenda, hold the line with a complex stakeholder community, and build an organisation that outlasts any single strategic cycle.
The Organisation
MNSW is the recognised governing body for motorcycle sport and recreation across NSW and the ACT. It operates within a federated structure alongside Motorcycling Australia, governing disciplines from Motocross and Road Race to Enduro, Speedway, Trial and Historic Road Race.
At a glance:
- Annual turnover of $2.5 million with a diversified revenue base
- A team of 8 FTE supported by 2,000 accredited officials and volunteers
- Tier 1 governance rating - Australian Sports Commission recognised
- A professional Board with corporate depth and genuine commitment to the sport
The organisation is in a strong position. The governance foundations are in place, the community is engaged, and the Board is aligned. The honest challenge is executing the strategy in an environment where facilities are constrained, volunteer expectations are high, and commercial growth requires deliberate effort.
What the Role Requires
Reporting to the Board and working in close partnership with the Chair, you will be accountable for four areas that sit at the core of the Strategic Plan:
- People: Leading a small professional team and a large volunteer network with the same clarity and respect. Culture is set from the top.
- Facilities & Advocacy: Navigating a constrained regulatory environment to secure sustainable venue access and strengthen government recognition of motorcycle sport.
- Growth: Lifting participation numbers, strengthening pathways, and making MNSW the body that clubs want to affiliate with.
- Commercial Reach: Diversifying revenue, building meaningful partnerships, and giving MNSW the financial headroom to invest in its own future.
