The Integrity Officer is responsible for overseeing integrity, conduct, and disciplinary processes across the Junior and Senior Competition at Keilor Basketball Association and the VJBL program.
The role coordinates incident reporting, leads investigations, supports tribunal processes, and ensures clear, professional communication with all stakeholders. The Integrity Officer also plays a key role in supporting child safety and safeguarding practices across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
1. Incident Management & Reporting
Coordinate and manage all incident reports across KBA competitions and programs
Ensure timely and accurate documentation of incidents in line with KBA and Basketball Victoria requirements
Maintain a centralised register of incidents and outcomes
Identify trends and provide insights to improve competition integrity and safety
2. Investigations
Lead and conduct investigations into reported incidents, complaints, and breaches of policy
Gather statements, evidence, and relevant information in a fair and unbiased manner
Ensure procedural fairness and confidentiality throughout all investigations
Prepare investigation reports and recommendations for outcomes
3. Tribunal Coordination
Coordinate tribunal processes, including scheduling, documentation, and communication
Liaise with Basketball Victoria tribunal representatives where required
Prepare and submit relevant documentation to support tribunal hearings
Ensure outcomes are communicated clearly and implemented appropriately
4. Stakeholder Communication
Act as the primary point of contact for integrity-related matters
Communicate with clubs, participants, officials, and families regarding incidents and outcomes
Provide clear, timely and professional updates throughout investigation and tribunal processes
Support education of stakeholders on rules, policies, and expected behaviours
5. Child Safety & Safeguarding
Support KBA Child Safety Officers and staff on safeguarding matters
Assist in the management of child safety concerns in line with legislation and KBA policies
Promote a child-safe culture across all programs
Ensure compliance with relevant child safety standards and reporting obligations
6. Policy & Compliance
Ensure adherence to KBA, Basketball Victoria, and relevant regulatory policies
Assist in the review and development of integrity, conduct, and safeguarding policies
Provide guidance to staff and volunteers on integrity-related matters

Key Selection Criteria
Essential:
Experience in investigations, complaints handling, or integrity-related roles
Strong understanding of procedural fairness and confidentiality
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to manage sensitive matters with professionalism and discretion
Strong organisational and time management skills
Ability to work independently in a part-time capacity
Desirable:
Experience within sport administration or basketball environments
Knowledge of Basketball Victoria policies and tribunal processes
Understanding of child safety legislation and safeguarding practices

10 hours per week, with flexibility required to respond to incidents and tribunal timelines
