About the Organisation

NSWCIS (CIS) aims to advance and support the holistic education of all students attending independent schools by providing the framework through which those students can pursue a representative pathway to State and National sporting competition as an athlete or official; both within the independent school sector and between CIS and other NSW education sectors, thereby leading to enhanced educational outcomes for the students.

CIS also aims to provide the opportunity for staff of schools to enhance their skills by taking up representative positions as Team Officials at State and National sporting competitions.

About the Role

Reporting directly to the Secondary Sport Operations Manager, the Secondary Sport Administrator provides administrative and event delivery support across the NSWCIS Secondary Sports Program. Working within a small and collaborative team, the hybrid role combines office-based administration with attendance at sporting trials, championships and key events throughout the year and work days from home.

This role plays an important part in coordinating and delivering Secondary school sporting programs, trials and championships. You will work closely with schools, convenors, students and stakeholders to ensure events are professionally delivered and well supported.

Key Responsibilities

Sport Program Administration

  • Provide administrative support across NSWCIS Secondary sport programs and activities.
  • Assist with team administration processes, including follow-up communication with selected students and staff.

Event & Championship Delivery

  • Assist in the planning and delivery of NSWCIS trials, championships and representative events.
  • Attend events as directed to support registrations, set-up, pack-down and operational requirements.

Communications & Stakeholder Support

  • Communicate professionally with member schools, convenors, officials, students and parents as required.
  • Update sport event pages and calendars on the NSWCIS website.
  • Support consistent communication across programs to ensure stakeholders receive accurate and timely information.

Operational & Logistics Coordination

  • Assist with venue bookings and administrative logistics for trials and championships along with uniform ordering processes and follow-up requirements.
  • Maintain organisational systems and administrative workflows to support program delivery.

Organisational Support & Team Contribution

  • Provide general administrative support to the Secondary Sport Operations Manager and broader team.
  • Undertake other duties consistent with the role as required.

About You

To succeed in this role, you will:

  • Have strong administration and organisational skills
  • Have excellent written and verbal communication
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Online Systems
  • Be detail-oriented and reliable
  • Enjoy working in sport and event environments
  • Have the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
  • Sports Administration Qualification - minimum Cert IV
  • Ability to travel as and when required (own car)
  • Be comfortable working occasional evenings or event days

Experience in school sport, event administration, education environments or sporting organisations will be highly regarded.
