Nuna Swimming - part of the Nunawading Swimming Club, one of Australia’s premier performance pathways - is seeking an outstanding Age Performance Coach to support the continued development of our emerging competitive athletes and strengthen our pathway toward national success.
We have a proud history of producing Olympians, Paralympians and national age medallists. Based primarily in Melbourne’s East, the squad program continues to grow rapidly, powered by a strong Learn-to-Swim foundation and talented athletes.

About the Role
The Age Performance Coach will support Nuna’s Age Performance Squad Program and be accountable for creating a safe, engaging and development-focused performance environment for emerging competitive swimmers.
Program Delivery
- Design, implement and evaluate structured training plans for age performance athletes
- Ensure athlete progression aligns with long-term development pathways
- Apply contemporary physical and psychological coaching methods
Athlete Development
- Coach athletes targeting State and National Age Championships
- Deliver technical stroke development, race preparation and performance feedback
- Foster athlete confidence, discipline and accountability
People & Collaboration
- Work collaboratively and often with a broad and experienced coaching team at Nunawading Swimming Club
- Partner with senior coaching staff to ensure pathway alignment across squads
- Provide mentorship and support to junior coaching staff where required
Community & Club Engagement
- Promote positive club culture, participation and retention
- Maintain strong parent and athlete relationships
- Support club competitions, camps and events as required
Operational Accountability
- Maintain athlete records, attendance and progression tracking
- Assist with rostering, scheduling and administrative requirements
- Ensure adherence to Child Safe Standards and organisational policies
About You
You bring:
- Demonstrated experience coaching and developing competitive age-group swimmers
- A collaborative and disciplined coaching style
- Strong communication with parents and stakeholders
- Skilled understanding of stroke development and athlete progression principles
Essential Requirements
(Per NSC Enterprise Agreement - Coach Level 2/3 depending on experience)
- Swimming Australia Coaching Licence (from 2026)
- Development / Advanced Coaching Accreditation (Swimming Australia)
- Competitive squad coaching experience
- Valid Working With Children Check – Victoria
- HLTAID001 CPR and HLTAID003 First Aid
- SISSS00111 Pool Lifeguard qualification
- Regular professional development
- Must have existing Australian work rights, as visa sponsorship is not available
Additionally required by NSC Inc (policy-based requirements):
- National Police Check (or ability to obtain)
Desirable
- Experience coaching swimmers at National Age level finalists and medalists; or above
- Strength & Conditioning qualifications
- Experience working within structured performance pathways
