The Queensland Academy of Sport (QAS) is on a bold journey towards Brisbane 2032 and beyond. Following the extraordinary success of Queensland athletes at the recent Olympic and Paralympic Games, we are now focused on delivering even more medal-winning moments through to Los Angeles 2028 and our home Games in 2032.
The Early Career Data Analyst supports the delivery of data and analytics products cross QAS sporting programs, working under the guidance of senior data staff. The role contributes to building and maintaining dashboards, analysis, and data assets that help coaches, athletes, and staff make data-informed decisions. It works collaboratively with stakeholders to understand requirements, supports users in engaging with data, and applies analytical tools to explore datasets and generate insights. This role is designed to build capability across analytics and data practices while contributing to a high-performance, team-based environment.
Some of your responsibilities will include:
- Support the development and delivery of data and analytics products across QAS sporting programs under guidance from senior data staff.
- Collaborate with sporting programs and stakeholders to understand requirements and assist in building dashboards, reports, and other analytics solutions.
- Assist in training and supporting users to interact with data and foster a datainformed approach across the organisation.
- Apply established analytical tools and techniques to explore datasets, identify trends and generate actionable insights.
- Contribute to the improvement and maintenance of data analysis models and reporting processes.
- Support project delivery within agreed timeframes, ensuring outputs meet quality standards and stakeholder needs.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external partners, escalating issues and managing competing priorities under supervision.
- Maintain awareness of relevant developments in analytics, data practices and high-performance sport environments.
- Contribute to building a positive, collaborative, and high-performance data culture within the QAS team.
