The role
Loreto Toorak offers a high performing, well established rowing program, widely recognised as one of the leading school rowing programs in Victoria. The program has a proud record of success, with regular appearances and outstanding results at the Head of the Schoolgirls’ Regatta, major State Championships, and the Australian National Championships. Strongly supported by school leadership and underpinned by excellent infrastructure, the rowing program is well positioned for continued success and growth.
We are seeking enthusiastic and experienced Rowing Coaches to join our dynamic rowing program for the 2026/2027 season. Sessions are available across the week and on weekends. Working closely with the Head of Rowing and relevant Coordinators, you will play an active role in coaching, mentoring and contributing to the ongoing development of the School’s rowing program.
These positions are critical in ensuring that training programs, schedules, and guidelines established by the Rowing Leadership Team are delivered professionally and consistently. Coaches are expected to role model the values, behaviours, and standards that underpin Loreto Mandeville Hall’s ethos and reputation.

About You
To be considered for a Rowing Coach position at Loreto Mandeville Hall, applicants will demonstrate the following:
- Rowing Australia NCAS Level 1 Rowing Coaching Accreditation (highly desirable)
- Provide CPR (HLTAID009) and Provide First Aid (HLTAID011) (essential)
- Working with Children Check (Employee) (essential)
- Previous experience coaching rowing, with demonstrated success within a school context (highly desirable)
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage time effectively across a busy training and competition schedule
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- High levels of self-awareness, professionalism, and the ability to build and maintain positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents
- A current Boat Licence (highly desirable)
Rowing Coaches are expected to commit to all scheduled training sessions, including weekdays, weekends, and school holidays, as well as rowing camps, regattas, and professional development activities as directed by the Head of Rowing and the broader Sport Department.
