About our T&T Program
Our Trampoline & Tumbling (T&T) program is growing, with a focus on sound fundamentals, excellent shaping, and progressive skill development. We emphasise consistent technique across the squad, guided by clear programming from the Head Coach and collaborative input from our coaching team. Athletes regularly attend Victorian, National, and selected interstate competitions.
The Role
We are seeking a Tumble Coach to work 9–15 hours per week with our pre-teen and young teen squad athletes. This role suits a coach confident in teaching advanced tumbling elements while working within an established technical framework.
Key Responsibilities
- Experience in Tumbling or MAG/WAG and advanced tumbling progressions
- Coach tumbling sessions for squad athletes (pre-teen/young teens)
- Teach and refine twisting skills, double salto skills and whip combinations with strong technical understanding
- Deliver sessions aligned to BTYC’s tumble technique and Head Coach programming
- Provide constructive feedback to athletes and clear communication to parents
- Collaborate with the Head Coach and contribute ideas to session planning
- Attend Victorian, National, and interstate competitions as required
Essential Skills & Experience
- Minimum Gymnastics Australia Advanced (ADV) qualification in Tumbling, MAG or WAG (FIG Qualifications are highly desirable, but not essential).
- Working rights in Australia (International coaches will be considered).
- Proven experience coaching tumbling or artistic gymnastics (MAG/WAG)
- Strong technical understanding of tumbling fundamentals, including whips, twisting and double saltos
- Ability to work within an established club syllabus and technique system
- Confident communication with athletes, parents, and coaching staff
- Strong teamwork skills and willingness to report to the Head Coach
- Reliability, professionalism, and a positive coaching attitude
- First Aid & CPR certificate (or willingness to obtain)
- Valid WWCC or equivalent (or willingness to obtain)
Desirable Skills & Experience
- Experience coaching competitive T&T athletes
- Previous involvement in state, national, or interstate competitions
- Experience contributing to program planning or athlete development pathways
- Strong spotting skills for advanced tumbling elements
- Ability to adapt coaching methods for different learning styles
- FIG 1,2 or 3 Qualifications
