The Role

The Scots College is seeking a highly organized, professional, and values-driven leader for the position of Tennis - Head of Operations

This pivotal leadership role provides oversight of all operational, cultural, and pastoral elements of the College’s Tennis program (T–12) across all campuses. Working in close collaboration with the Head of Performance and the Sport Leadership Team, you will ensure that the program reflects the College’s vision and traditions, maintaining the highest standards of behavior, sportsmanship, and operational efficiency.

Key Accountabilities

  • Operational & Financial Management: Oversee the day-to-day logistics of the T–12 program, including budget management, facility readiness, equipment inventory, and operational resourcing.
  • Cultural & Pastoral Leadership: Foster a culture of care and hospitality while maintaining a disciplined, values-based environment. You will manage student behavior and wellbeing, ensuring adherence to College grooming and uniform standards.
  • Camps, Tours & Clinics: Lead the planning, organization, and on-site supervision of all Tennis camps, domestic and international tours, holiday clinics, and holiday training programs.
  • Staff Leadership: Provide mentoring and guidance to Age Managers and operational staff, ensuring all safety standards, injury protocols, and first aid management are strictly followed.
  • Fixtures & AAGPS Compliance: Coordinate weekly fixtures, draws, and transport logistics. You will represent the College at AAGPS Tennis committee meetings and judiciaries, ensuring full compliance with competition codes of conduct.
  • Communication: Serve as the primary administrative link for coaches, families, and external stakeholders, providing clear and proactive weekly updates on schedules and expectations.

You are a proactive administrator and a respected leader who understands the nuances of a high-performing school sports program. You possess:

  • Exceptional Organizational Capability: Proven experience managing complex logistics, multi-campus schedules, and risk management frameworks.
  • Strong Interpersonal Skills: The ability to communicate effectively with a diverse community, including parents, staff, and external venue managers.
  • Values-Driven Leadership: A commitment to fostering a positive, disciplined sporting environment that aligns with the College’s Christian ethos.
  • Collaborative Mindset: The ability to work as part of a high-performing team to deliver a seamless experience for student-athletes.

Special Requirements

The nature of this position requires a significant commitment outside of standard school hours. The appointee is expected to:

  • Be present at all Saturday morning and afternoon fixtures.
  • Supervise training sessions, holiday programs, and camps.
  • Participate fully in the life of the College, including attending meetings and events as required.
