The College is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated individual to fill the role of a part-time (0.6 FTE) Sports Coordinator within our dynamic Sports team. This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated candidate to work within a successful sports program and lead a team of sports coaches. 

The role will commence Term 3 (Monday 20 July) and is expected to conclude at the end of Semester 2, 2028. 

The role involves a 0.6 FTE part-time load spread across four days per week, including Saturdays. 

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will lead and manage a variety of activities and team sports for students in Years K - 12.  Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading and managing team sports across multiple sports (Years K - 12)
  • Managing sport representative oathways, trials, matches and training sessions
  • Collaborating with the Sports Department team to deliver and attend sports carnivals and events 
  • Manage facility bookings, equipment and weekly competition schedules 
  • Communicate with coaches, parents, students and officials
  • Implement risk management procedures across a variety of venues 
  • Assist in driving participation numbers and sport performance 

Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, we are looking for a candidate who has: 

  • Willingness to work across various sports, including badminton, netball, hockey and/or basketball
  • Previous experience working in schools (highly beneficial)
  • An understanding of IGSA representative sports pathways (highly beneficial)
  • Excellent organisational, administration, time management, and communication skills
  • The ability to organise sports programs, trials, training, and games 
  • The availability to work outside of regular school hours, including early mornings, afternoons, evenings, and Saturdays, as well as during non-term time and sports trips/tours
  • Appropriate tertiary qualifications in sport or a related discipline and/or equivalent industry experience 
  • A current First Aid and CPR certificate
