Description

SNSW are seeking a Head of Growth to lead the next phase of Swimming NSW’s expansion.

This is a senior executive role responsible for driving revenue growth, membership and participation across the organisation. The role brings together partnerships, marketing, membership, participation and commercial operations under a single, integrated growth strategy.

You will lead how Swimming NSW connects with its community, expands its offering, and builds sustainable revenue to support the future of the sport.

The role

Reporting to the CEO and working as part of the Executive Leadership Team, the Head of Growth will:

  • Lead the development and delivery of the organisation’s Growth Strategy
  • Own the Commercial Strategy, including partnerships, sponsorships and retail
  • Drive participation and membership growth through new products, programs and engagement models
  • Oversee marketing, brand and communications strategy and execution
  • Build and manage a strong pipeline of commercial and community partnerships
  • Identify and deliver new revenue streams aligned to the organisation’s purpose
  • Use data and insights to inform strategy, measure performance and drive outcomes
  • Work closely with senior leaders to align growth initiatives across participation, events and pathways

This role will suit a leader who can operate strategically and execute, someone comfortable building new opportunities while strengthening core business performance.

You are a commercially minded leader with a strong track record of delivering growth.

You will bring:

  • Proven experience in commercial, partnerships, marketing or growth-focused roles
  • A demonstrated ability to develop and execute strategy that delivers measurable outcomes
  • Strong stakeholder management skills across corporate, government and community sectors
  • Experience leading teams and working across multiple functions
  • Strong communication and influencing capability
  • A clear understanding of audience engagement, customer behaviour and market trends

Experience within sport is beneficial, but not essential. What matters most is your ability to grow an organisation’s reach, relevance and revenue.

Essential Requirements

  • First Aid Certificate
  • Current Provide/Perform CPR
  • Working with Children / Working with Vulnerable People Check
  • Commercial experience including retail, merchandise, or commercial operations management.
  • Experience in sport development, participation growth, or community sport delivery.
  • Experience in developing and managing partnerships, sponsorships, or commercial relationships.
  • Strong marketing strategy capability, including campaign planning, brand management, and digital marketing.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute growth strategies that deliver measurable outcomes.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, including experience engaging with government, corporate partners, and community organisations.
  • Experience in event-based participation or community engagement programs.

Desirable Criteria

  • Sports Management / Business Degree
  • Experience working within an aquatic sport, state sporting organisation, or national sporting organisation.
  • Experience with government funding, grant applications, and acquittal processes.
  • Understanding of the Australian sporting landscape and the role of state sporting organisations.
