Description

The Opportunity

Are you a passionate cricketer or sports administrator looking to build something from the ground up?

Camrea Cricket Club is embarking on a bold new chapter. With brand-new facilities at John Hall Reserve and a commitment to becoming the premier junior development destination in Melbourne’s North, we are looking for a dynamic Junior Development Pathways Lead to drive our growth for the 2026/27 season.

This is a hybrid role that combines community outreach, talent recruitment, and program coordination. You will be the face of our junior expansion, working alongside a Former International Cricketer to establish a high-performance pathway for the next generation of cricketers.

Core Objectives & KPIs

Your primary focus from April to September is growth. We currently have one mixed junior side; your mission is to expand this into a full program, including dedicated U13 and U15 teams.

  • Recruitment: Secure 20-30 new junior registrations by the end of the preseason.
  • Outreach: Establish active partnerships with local schools and community groups within a 10km radius of Kingsbury/Bundoora.
  • Pathways: Create formal connections with JG Craig and Dowling Shield representative teams to ensure Camrea is primed to become a premier feeder club.

Key Responsibilities

  • Community Engagement: Lead "Cricket Roadshows" at local schools and community centres.
  • Event Management: Organise and execute "Come and Try" days, trials, and parent information sessions.
  • Pathway Education: Advise parents and players on the junior-to-senior pathway and representative opportunities.
  • Session Coordination: Work with the Junior Coordinator to plan and deliver winter training sessions, utilising the Ex-International Player experience for highperformance clinics.
  • Lead Management: Utilise PlayHQ (or suggested CRM) to track enquiries and convert them into registrations.

The Ideal Candidate

This role is flexible and fluid, making it perfect for Premier Cricketers, Sports Management Students, or Experienced Coaches with a knack for community engagement.

  • Proactive: You don't wait for the phone to ring; you’re comfortable doorknocking at schools and presenting to groups.
  • Cricket Knowledge: A strong understanding of the Victorian junior pathway system.
  • Commitment: Available for after-school outreach and weekend community events.
  • Coaching: Ability to lead basic coaching sessions (Level 1 accreditation preferred).

Remuneration & Benefits

  • Flexible Casual Rate: Commensurate with experience.
  • Performance Bonus: A structured "success fee" for every registration milestone achieved.
  • Career Growth: Potential to transition into a 12-month full-program management role, including coaching and training oversight. Mentorship: Work directly with an ex-International Cricketer and gain experience in high-level program delivery.
