Description

Special Olympics Australia is seeking an organised, efficient, detail-oriented Head of Delegation with demonstrated experience in leading and managing touring teams. The successful candidate will provide leadership and oversight of the Special Olympics Australia World Games Team, ensuring the effective planning, preparation and delivery of all aspects of the delegation's participation in the World Games.

The Special Olympics World Games are the pinnacle event for athletes, bringing together competitors from around the world to celebrate sport, inclusion and achievement. We are seeking a leader with the experience, passion and commitment to create a positive, inclusive and athlete-centred environment, ensuring every team member is supported and empowered to perform at their personal best while proudly representing Australia on the world stage

The Head of Delegation must be available to attend all required Team Australia preparation activities, including the Officials Camp and Team Training Camp. The role also requires international travel with the delegation to the World Games, with the Travel to Games period anticipated to be from 14-22 October 2027 (dates to be confirmed).
