Basketball ACT is seeking an enthusiastic, organised and customer-focused Competitions Coordinator - Senior to lead the administration and delivery of our Senior Domestic and 3x3 competitions.

About the Role

Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, you'll be responsible for the day-to-day management and continuous improvement of Basketball ACT's Senior competitions.

This hands-on role combines administration, operations, stakeholder engagement and leadership, ensuring our competitions are well organised, inclusive and professionally delivered.

As part of the role, you will:

  • Coordinate the administration of Senior Domestic and 3x3 competitions using PlayHQ.
  • Manage competition scheduling, grading and season planning.
  • Ensure competitions are delivered in accordance with Basketball ACT by-laws and policies.
  • Coordinate and roster casual Court Supervisors.
  • Provide operational support during competition nights and weekends.
  • Assist with disciplinary and integrity matters.
  • Build positive relationships with clubs, participants, referees, volunteers and other stakeholders.
  • Drive continuous improvement to enhance participant experience.
  • Help foster a positive, respectful and inclusive basketball community.

About You

You'll be an organised and proactive professional who enjoys solving problems and working with people.

You will ideally have:

  • Experience coordinating sporting competitions or similar operational programs.
  • Experience using competition management software such as PlayHQ (or similar).
  • Outstanding organisational and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
  • Strong administrative and computer skills.
  • The ability to remain calm under pressure and confidently resolve issues.
  • A genuine passion for community sport and delivering exceptional customer service.

Essential Requirements

  • Working with Vulnerable People (WWVP) Registration (or ability to obtain).
  • Senior First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain).
  • Tertiary qualifications in Sport Management, Business or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).
